We’ve completed major mansory projects for large clients including Sugarbush, local business parks in Colchester, as well as small home improvement projects for homeowners on a budget.
Our dual headquarters out of Northfield and Richmond Vermont allow us to cover projects all over the state, and also eastern upstate New York and Western New Hampshire. We’ve build our business on first rate customer service and quality workmanship. We take the time to make sure each job is done right and can be shared with generations to come.
Stonescapes Inc. has been in business in northern Vermont for 22 years. Fred and Doug personally work on every project to ensure the highest quality every time. We chose to work with field Stone, quarried stone, and other related products because of the satisfaction we derive from them. We are always amazed and pleased to look at what a pile of stone or pallets of material and our labor produce. From small patio and stone wall projects to major custom masonry hardscapes, we take great pride in every job completed.
Our goal is to exceed our client’s expectations. We enjoy the relationships we build as much as the projects. For more information or to get a quote, send email to email@example.com

Fred’s life has been tied to stone for more than 30 years. He has designed and built a wide variety of stone objects including dry stacked and mortared stone walls, patios, columns, chimneys and fireplaces.
Fred is a native Vermonter and graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduation and before managing his family’s knitting mill. Fred studied in England. While there he admired the extensive stone masonry and dry stacked work that exists in England, Scotland, Ireland, and other destinations in Europe. After the knitting mill was closed in Northfield; Fred renewed his interest in the existing masonry and dry stacked walls that dot the New England landscape. This sparked his desire to work and create with stone. Fred worked with different stone masons for several years.
Fred studied landscape design at VTC then started his own company creating, designing, and constructing with stone. A few years later he teamed up with Doug Nolan and started Stonescapes Inc. Fred has also been a certified ski and snowboard instructor working for Sugarbush Resort for the past 20 plus winter seasons.
